Making Funny Hightech Interface Shapes
In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will learn the basics of making hightech interfaces fast and easy. We will make funny combinations of custom shaped shapes and turn them to interfaces.
1.
We will start by making the basic shape, so make two identical ellipses and place them as shown below.
2.
Now make a rectangle shape and use the free transform tool to drag the two left corners out to the edges of the ellipses as shown below.
In the layers panel select, right click and merge the three shape layers.
Rotate the image 90 degrees CW.
4.
In the layers panel double click the shape layer to get to the layers style panel, and give it settings as shown below.
5.
Now we are done with the base shape, we can now make some inside display or buttons.
Make a new empty layer above the first shape layer, then draw an ellipse into one of the round areas of the base shape as shown below.
6.
In the layers panel right click the layer and choose rasterize layer, double click the layer to get to the layer styles panel and give it settings as shown below.
7.
Make a new layer and name it reflection, hold down ctrl and click the elliptical shape layer from before to load the selection.
8.
With the elliptical selection tool and selection mode intersect with selection drag out as shown in the image below and fill the selection white color.
9.
repeat this step for a reflection at the button to.
Go to filters -> blur -> gaussian blur and blur it about 5 to soften the reflection.
10.
Now we are done, to get the result I just did, just have to copy the round button and move it over to the other side, then make some more shape and apply the same styles as shown above.
