Comet Fire Blast Effect In Photoshop


In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial I will show you how to make a cool comet fire blasting effect in just a few easy steps.

1.
Start with a black background layer, then make a new empty layer to work in.

Now with a soft, big brush click to make a white big dot on the layer, then make the brush size about 1/3 and draw out a line as shown in the image below.

Go to filters -> stylize -> wind and set it as shown below.

Rotate the shape 90 degrees and give it a wind again with settings as below, then one more time with same settings just left to right insted of right to left.

rotate the object 90 degress back.

Go to filters -> blur -> motion blur and set it as below.

In the layers panel double click the shape layer to get to the layers style panel and give it settings as in the images below.

7.
Now we will make the blast bend a bit, this can be done in may ways, such as filter twirl, wave etc.
I choosed twirl so go to filters -> distort -> twirl and drag the handle as in the image below.

And you are done.
