Classic horizontal website navigation menu
In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will see how to make a classic horizontal website navigation menu.
1.
Make a horizontal rectangular selection all the way over the stage as shown below.
2.
Make a new empty layer to contain the menu.
Now fill it with a dark green color (or whatever color you want).
3.
Now double click the shape layer in the layers panel to get to the layers style panel, and give it settings as shown below.
4.
Now your image should look something like this.
5.
Now make a new layer and name it reflection, then hold down ctrl and click the shape layer from before to load the selection then with the rectangular selection tool and selection mode called intersect with selection drag and select as shown below.
6.
Fill the selection with white, and bring its opacity down to about 35 percent.
7.
Now we will make the cries between the menu buttons, so again hold down ctrl and click the shape layer from before to load the selection then with the rectangular selection tool and selection mode called intersect with selection drag and select as shown below.
8.
Make a new empty layer in between the menu layer and the reflection layer.
fill the selection with the same green color as the web menu.
double click the shape layer in the layers panel to get to the layers style panel, and give it settings as shown below.
9.
Now make some copies of the layer to separate the menu buttons and now you can write some text in the web menu as I did
