Classic professional text style
How to make a classic professional text style effect casting a reflection, in Adobe Photoshop
1.
Start by dragging a gradient from a light blue to a darker blue color in the background layer, then make an empty layer to work in.
2.
Now write in some text a size that fits about half the height of the image size, and place it in the top half, so we have room for a reflection beneath it.
3.
In the layers panel right click the new text layer and choose rasterize layer, then hold down ctrl to load the text selection.
Make a custom gradient as the one in the image below, and drag it in the selection.
4.
With the text layer selected go to filter -> blur -> gaussian blur, and blur the layer about 0,6 just to soften the edges.
5.
In the layers panel double click the text layer to get to the layers style menu, and give it settings as shown below.
6.
Make a copy of the text layer, go to edit -> free transform, and drag the upper middle handle down as in the image below, this is going to be our reflection. Move it a bit more down so it doesnt touch the text layer.
7.
Now we need to delete the styles attached to the reflection layer, so hold down shift and alt keys while dragging the small f logo at the right side of the layer in the layers panel, down to the small garbage can.
8.
Bring down the reflection layers opacity to about 50 percent.
With the reflection layer selected go to filter -> distort -> ripple and ripple it as in the image below.
Hope you enjoyed it.
