Create an awesome mp3 player interface in photoshop
How to create an awesome shiny mp3 player interface in Adobe Photoshop, a step by step guide.
1.
We will start by making the base shape, by doing this we will create 2 elliptical shapes and place them as I did below, then make a rectangular shape on top of those circles.
2.
Now in the layers panel hold down ctrl and select all tree shape layer, right click and choose rasterize layers, then right click again and choose merge layers, and you have your base shape.
3.
Go to filter -> blur -> gaussian blur and blur it about 1 just to soften the edges.
4.
In the layers panel double click the shape layer to get to the styles panel, give it settings as shown below.
5.
Make a new empty layer and name it stroke, hold down ctrl and press the shape layer to load the shape selection.
Go to edit -> stroke and give it a black stroke with a width at about 3 px.
Go to filter -> blur -> gaussian blur and blur it about 1.5
6.
Make a new empty layer, hold down ctrl and press the shape layer to load the shape selection.
With the rectangular selection tool and selection mode intersect with selection, drag the middle part (horizontal) of the shape.
Go to edit -> fill and fill it with black.
Go to filter -> blur -> gaussian blur and blur it about 5.
Bring down the opacity to about 40 percent.
Go to filter -> blur -> motion blur and blur it (vertical) about -90.
Now your image should look something similar to this.
7.
Again make a new layer, hold down ctrl and press the base shape layer to load the shape selection.
Go to select -> modify -> contract and contract it about 15.
Fill it with the color black (we are changing it later).
Go to edit -> free transform and drag the layer as shown below.
8.
Double click the new layer to get to the styles panel, give it a color overlay of what ever color you can on the display, and give it other settings as shown below.
9.
Make a new layer and name it reflection, hold down ctrl and click the layer from before to get the selection, then with the rectangular selection tool and selection mode intersect with selection, drag 1/3 top half of the selection.
Go to select -> modify -> smooth and smooth it about 8
10.
Make a gradient going from white to transparent, and drag it in the selection.
Make a copy of the reflection layer and place it at the bottom, rotate it 180 degrees.
Merge those two layers, and give them a gaussian blur at about 12.
Now you can type in some text in a layer under the reflection layer as I did.
To make the button at the right side, just repeat the process for the display or look at some of my other tutorials on making glossy buttons.
Note: I just updated the result a bit, I went to the layers style panel for the display and put down the opacity of the color overlay to about 80 percent, then gave it a pattern overlay with a suitable pattern.
