Making a cool cartoon style fried egg
In this great tutorial you will learn how to make a cool cartoon style fried egg in Adobe Photoshop
1.
Start by dragging the shape as illustrated below into the stage from the custom shapes rollout.
In the layers panel, right click the shape layer and choose rasterize layer.
2.
Go to filter -> liquify and use the forward wrap tool (left upper corner in CS2) to smooth the shape so it doesn't have the big creases.
3.
Hold down ctrl and press the shape layer to load the selection, then fill it with white color image -> fill.
4.
Double click the shape layer to get to the layers style panel and give it settings as shown below.
5.
Make a new empty layer, and with the elliptical selection tool drag inside your shape to make the inside yellow part of the egg. Hold down shift and press backspace and fill the selection with yellow color.
6.
Double click the new layer in the layers panel to get to the layers style panel, and give it settings as shown below.
7.
Now your fried egg should look something like the image below.
8.
Now we need the reflection.
Hold down ctrl and click the elliptical shape layer to load the selection. Now with the elliptical selection tool and selection mode named intersect with selection drag as illustrated below.
9.
Go to select -> modify -> contract and contract it about 5 and then go to select -> modify -> smooth and smooth it about 5.
with a gradient going from white color to see through drag over the selection so your image should look something like this.
10.
Repeat step 8 and 9 for a reflection at the bottom of the egg.
11.
Now give both reflection layers a filters -> blur -> gaussian blur at about 2,5 to smooth the edges.
Now you are done, and your image should look like my final image.
