Making cool colorful glossy cubes effect
In this Photoshop tutorial you will learn how to make a great funny glowing cube effect, great for backgrounds or other stuff.
1.
Start with a black background layer and make an empty layer to work with.
2.
Make a gradient from black to white, and choose the gradient mode called diamond gradient, then drag from about center and almost to the edge of the border as illustrated below.
Then you should end up with something like this.
3.
Go to filters -> filter gallery and locate the filter called crome and set it as below.
4.
Grab the magic wand tool and set the tolerance to about 20, and click somewhere in the black area around the square shape to get the black selection and then press delete to erase the black around it.
5.
Now go to image -> free transform and scale the object down in size so you get some free space.
6.
Now with the layer selected go to image -> adjustments -> hue and saturations and drag the handles as shown below to chage the color of the object.
7.
Make a copy of the layer and place it above the other layer, and set its layer blending mode to Linear dodge.
Again go to image -> adjustments -> hue and saturations and drag the handles to change the colors to something else as shown below.
