In this tutorial you will see how to apply a great looking yellow glow effect to a piece of text in Adobe Photoshop.

1.
Start with a black background layer and create an empty layer to work with.

With your text tool write your text in about center of the stage, then right click the text layer in the layers panel and choose rasterize layer.
Hold down ctrl and click the layer to load the text selection.

Now make a gradient as illustrated in the image below and drag it over the selection.

Now we will apply a couple of filters to the text.
Go to filters -> filter gallery and locate the filter called sponge and give it settings as shown in the image below.

Now double click the text layer to get to the layers styles and give it settings a the images below.

Go to image -> adjustments -> levels and drag the handles as shown below.

Now make a copy of the text layer and select the bottom text layer, then go to filters -> blur -> motion blur and set it as below.

And you are done.
