In this tutorial you will see how you can make a cool colorful traffic sign in Adobe Photoshop, in just a few easy steps.

Start with an empty stage, with a white background layer, go to custom shapes and locate the shape from the image below and draw it in an empty layer.

Right click the shapes layer in the layers panel, and choose rasterize layer.
hold down ctrl and press the shapes layer to get its selection, then go to select -> modify -> contract and contract it by about 10 px.

Hold down ctrl and shift while pressing i, to invert the selection then click delete to delete, now your shape should by thinner.

Make a new layer beneath the shape layer, make a round selection a bit bigger then the shape from before, hold down shift and press backspace and fill the selection with a light grey color, then while still having the selection, go to edit -> stroke and give it a black stroke around it.

Now for both layers go to filters -> blur -> gaussian blur and blur it about 1 to smooth the edges.

Now in between those to layers make your shape layer, I chose a car from the custom shapes rollout menu.
Right click the shape layer and choose rasterize layer, again go to filters -> blur -> gaussian blur at about 1 to smooth it.

Now double click the bottom round layer to get to the layers styles panel and give it a drop shadow with settings as shown below.

Create an empty layer above all the other layers and name it dirt, go to your brush tool and pick the brush I used below and draw on top of the shape.
Put down the dirt layers opacity to about 60.

Now we are going to make the stake for our sign.
Make an empty layer beneath the sign layers and make a rectangular selection as shown below.

Make a gradient as I did and drag from left to right inside the selection so it looks like a 3d shape.

And you are done.
