Painting realistic graffiti on a wall in photoshop
In this tutorial you will see how you easy can add realistic graffiti text and shapes to a brick texture wall in Adobe Photoshop.
1.
I started out with a nice looking brick wall texture.
2.
Now with your text tool, find a good font I used matisse ITC, write your text, go to the layers panel and right click the text layer choose rasterize layer.
3.
Now hold down ctrl and click your text layer to get the selection, then go to select -> modify -> border and set it to 25, make a new layer and fill the selection with the color black by holding down shift and click backspace.
4.
Go back and select the first text layer then hold down ctrl and click the layer to get the selection again.
Grab your gradient tool and make a colorful gradient, drag it over the text selection.
5.
Right click the top layer and choose merge down to merge the text border layer with the gradient text layer.
Set the text layers blending mode to soft light, so we can see the wall texture through the text.
Double click the text layer to get to the layers styles panel, and give it a drop shadow as in the image below.
6.
Now your image should look like this.
7.
Now to making the heart.
Grab your custom shape tool, expand the shape menu and choose the heart shape, Then drag it to the image on top of the brick wall.
8.
Right click the heart layer and choose rasterize layer, set its blending mode to soft light.
Go to filters -> distort -> ripple and set it as the image below.
9.
Now the final touch is using the smudge tool with strength at about 70, to drag some different places in the heart and down so it looks like the painting is running down the brick wall texture.
And you are done.
