Make a cool Carmen Electra silhouette background in Photoshop
In this tutorial you will see how to create a nice stylish looking background image with a Carmen Electra silhouette
1.
I started by using some time cutting all background around beautiful Carmen Electra out.
Hold down ctrl and click Carmen so you get the selection.
2.
Now click the eye to the left of the layer to hide Carmen and make a new empty layer, then go to the navigation menu roll down select -> modify -> smooth and smooth it by about 25 px.
3.
While still having the selection, hold down shift and press backspace to get the fill dialog box, and fill your selection with black.
4.
Make a new layer and place it under the Carmen Electra layer. This is going to be the background layer.
Make a gradient as in the image below, then drag from Carmen's head and down to the left corner.
5.
Make a copy of the background layer and place it just above the original, then go to image -> adjustments -> desaturate to make it gray colors, then go to image -> adjustments -> levels and drag the handles closer together as in the image below.
6.
With the new (gray) layer selected set its blending mode to overlay, then your image should look something like this:
7.
Make a copy of the Carmen Electra layer and place it under the original, then go to filters -> blur -> motion blur and set it as in the image below.
8.
Now for the original black silhouette layer, give it a blur from filters -> blur -> gaussian blur, with an amount of about 1 just to smooth the edges.
And you are done.
